Hernandez wins bonus point for Hammers

Chelsea 1 West Ham 1

It's off to the Hole in the Wall at Waterloo to watch this one with Matt, Nigel and Fraser over a pint of Hog's Back TEA. Arnie has an early chance from a Masuaku cross but takes one touch too many. The rest of the first half is all Chelsea with Kante winning the midfield battle and Willian and Hazard running through at will.

Hart makes a fine save from Willian, but from the resulting corner Chelsea take a scruffy lead as Azpilicueta pokes home. Morata nods down, Arnautovic gets in a tangle and Cresswell fails to react. Chelsea have two goals by Morata correctly disallowed for marginal offsides and Mystic Matt suggests it could be a three or four goal thrashing. The positive is that West Ham stick at it and Rice has another fine game at the back, while Arnautovic is tireless up front as a lone striker.

None of us are optimistic for the second half, but the longer it remains 1-0 we start to hope a little. A tardy Michael arrives to offer redemption as our lucky omen. Fraser is astonished to see Moyes bring on an actual forward in Hernandez, who replaces the disappointing Fernandes.

Cahill miscues a header in the Chelsea box, Arnie gathers and delivers a perfect pullback for Chicharito who hammers home four minutes after coming on. Nigel is up out of his seat dancing in front of the TV screen and last looked this happy getting Ian Gillan's autograph. Loud chants of "Stick you blue flag up your arse!" can be heard on the TV.

The rest of the game sees the maligned Joe Hart emerge as a Hammers hero. He makes two brilliant saves, tipping over Alonso's effort and then tipping Giroud's header on to a post. Cresswell has to be replaced by Evra, who uses his experience to keep things solid. There's even a late chance for the Irons to win it as Arnie gets through only to be denied by a fine Kante tackle.

We had a bit of luck at times but a point here is a great result and now a win against Stoke — not easy — would secure survival. Irons!

It's Hog's Back TEA, not Hopback.

It is Hog's Back - but after a few it is an easy mistake to make.
