Diame in

We've signed Mohamed Diame, whose contract has expired at Wigan. He'll presumably play the Diop defensive midfielder role and has already had three years of experience in the Premiership. Judging by Wigan's brilliant form at the end of last season he can't be a bad player and he scored three goals. At 25 he's a Senegal international and is yet to reach his best. Hopefully he's on sensible rather than silly wages, but not can't have taken too much to outbid Wigan. Seems like a good statement of intent to me: Allardyce is serious about building a good Premier League side.

Just need Clyne and Zaha from Palace, Jarvis from wolves and Yakubu and I would be very pleased with that bit of business. I wouldn't bring in too many as it would disrupt the current squad who are obviously very happy with each other because of last seasons success. I would also try n get Olsonn in as cover if tht fails, Johnson of wolves or Dann of Blackburn. I was very impressed with Reid and Tomkins towards the end of the season they look like they were starting to understand each others play and positioning. Give them a go in the Prem Sam.

Yep, at least we're doing some business early, Jack. Dann and Johnson looked really good centre backs at Birmingham but had terrible seasons at Blackburn and Wolves so might be worth a punt. Zaha would be exciting too...
